It is well-known that the cleaner our skin is, the more beautiful it will look. Since the skin is the body's covering, it is daily affected by dust, dirt, climate, pollution, winter, summer, and strong winds, and we worry about its cleanliness to maintain its glow. For skin cleaning, although there is much talk about various body washes, face washes, scrubs, cleansers, lotions, and different types of homemade packs, we generally use soap and water for cleaning the body's skin. This is because every common person, whether male or female, follows the routine of cleaning their skin by bathing with soap and water daily. Is this method of regularly cleaning the skin with soap and water correct or not...? What changes are needed...? To what extent can soap be beneficial or harmful for the skin...? Generally, people are not aware of this, so let's learn some important things about cleaning the skin with soap.

Is our method of cleaning with soap correct or not...? We clean our skin with soap while bathing daily. Is this method right or wrong? This depends on whether we are just completing the formality of bathing or if we are also paying proper attention to the cleanliness of our body's skin. Generally, if you just rub soap on your body and pour 8-10 buckets of water in a hurry, this method is not quite right. This is because this method neither cleans the countless dead cells that shed from the skin daily nor does it clean the deeply embedded dust and dirt from the outside. As a result, both mix and start accumulating on the body as grime. This grime not only clogs the skin pores but also breeds bacteria on the skin, leading to many diseases like acne, eczema, and allergies on the face and body. The skin, filled with spots and blemishes, also begins to lose its actual color, form, and radiance. Therefore, while bathing, apply soap to the skin and rub the entire body with your hands for some time so that the external dirt and the dead cells accumulated on the skin loosen and can be easily cleaned. If possible, gently rub the skin with a homemade loofah made from dried gourd, a soft nylon loofah available in the market, or a small fluffy towel. This will thoroughly clean the dirt and grime from the skin with soap. After this, if you wipe the wet skin by gently rubbing it with a soft fluffy towel, the remaining dirt and dead cells accumulated on the skin will also be cleaned. If you don't have time to clean the skin this way, you should still rinse off the soap by rubbing it well with your hands while washing with water, because soap particles clinging to the skin in a hurry make it dry and dull.

Is soap harmful to the skin...? Generally, soap does not harm the skin, but excessive use of soap makes the skin dry and rough. If your skin is already dry, soap can cause problems. Therefore, cleaning the skin with soap once in the morning while bathing is sufficient. As you age, the skin produces less natural oil. In such a situation, repeated or excessive use of soap on the skin will cause it to lose its moisture completely and appear very dry and rough. Remember that dry skin quickly becomes a victim of wrinkles and blemishes, so a thorough cleaning of the skin with soap should be done only once while bathing. If you have a habit of bathing more than once or washing your face, hands, and feet, do not use any ordinary soap at all, because the excess detergent in them harms the skin by absorbing its natural moisture. Therefore, instead of ordinary soap, use natural or homemade soap because the moisturizing agents, oils, and glycerin used in it maintain the skin's moisture without causing any harm.

How to choose soap according to your skin type...? Whatever the soap, it will clean your skin, but some soaps are more suitable for you according to your skin type. Generally, for dry skin, an oil-based or glycerin-based soap is recommended; for sensitive skin, a mild soap or baby soap; and for oily and acne-prone skin, an alkaline or medicated soap is advised to keep it clean and dry. But while choosing all these types of soaps, do not be attracted to soaps with a very strong fragrance or that produce a lot of lather, because the presence of synthetic preservatives and harmful chemicals in such soaps can cause skin allergies and even skin cancer.

Is it necessary to change soap according to the season...? Whatever the season, it is generally not necessary to change soap, but the issue of changing soap often arises in winter when the skin starts to become dry. In such a case, if you use soap minimally on your skin instead of changing it, your skin will remain normal. But if the dryness increases in winter, use a natural, homemade, or glycerin-based soap. Otherwise, apply oil or moisturizer to the skin before or after using soap. Sometimes, excessive redness or itching of the skin can also be caused by soap. If the problem becomes serious due to excessive use of soap or an allergy to a particular ingredient in the soap, you can change your soap after consulting a doctor, or stop using ordinary chemical-based soaps and use only natural soaps.

When cleaning the skin with soap, clean it with gentle, soft hands instead of rubbing it too much, and to rinse the soap off thoroughly, wash the skin at least 3-4 times with clean water. If you clean your skin this way, there is no doubt that even with ordinary soap and water, your skin will remain soft and radiant for a long time.
